TUCSON, AZ (07/29/08) - The Arizona Rush (9-1-3) will be making a trip to the WPSL Final Four in Sacramento, CA this weekend (Aug. 2-3). Although the tour from Arizona to California is a well-earned and exciting one, the Rush will not be turning this road trip into a California vacation. Arizona Rush is well aware it's semi-final opponent, the New England Mutiny (11-2), is a veteran club from a highly respected conference. But don't expect Rush to express a
we're just glad to be here attitude. Rush, in their first season of existence, has met all Big Sky North Conference tests head-on and consistently found a way to compete. With a 6-2 quarterfinal thrashing of league rival Utah Avalanche at Utah, the Rush coaching staff feel their team is healthy and prepared for the physical and mental rigors of the Final Four. "This is one of the most motivated teams I have ever been associated with," said Coach Chris Fernandez. "Our most intense training sessions have come in the post-season and we will need every ounce of that intensity to compete with the Mutiny."
