Fort Worth FC's Charmaine Hooper
FORT WORTH, TX - June 6th, 2008 - Charmaine Hooper is one of the most decorated female soccer players to ever play the game. In 2006, Hooper was the all-time leader for Team Canada's national team with 126 international caps and 64 international goals. About the Team: | Fort Worth FC is pleased to announce a brand new team to the Woman's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). The up-coming season will mark the first season of competition for Fort Worth FC. While the team is still young, hopes are high that Fort Worth FC will taste success as soon as they take the field. . The coaching staff of Austin Hudson and Tarik Guendouzi along with General Manager, Angie Nickens, and Executive Director, Jim Harris are working to build a team with some of north Texas' best talent. The team members will be comprised of high school senior women who are looking to improve their skills before heading to the collegiate ranks, current college players who want to better themselves before heading into the season, and highly skilled players who still wish to compete at a high level. This season's schedule will provide the team with some of the WPSL's best competition including the teams from Tulsa, Dallas, and Houston. Fort Worth FC has been a premier soccer club in Fort Worth, Texas. The club strives to provide their players with the highest possible level of play. The club has enjoyed success on both the state and national levels. Some of the nation's best collegiate players participated on Fort Worth FC's teams. | About the Coaching: | COACH - Tarik Guendouzi Tarik Guendouzi, a native of Wales, holds a National C-level coaching license. He's also the Girls Varsity coach at Fort Worth Country Day High School and is a state coach and scout for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) in Texas. A team captain, Taz played for and earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Wingate University, where his teams finished 8th (1999) and 23rd (2002) in the Nation. Other playing experience includes professional teams Carolina Dynamo (D3) and the DFW Tornados of the Premier Development League, where he plays midfield. COACH - Austin Hudson Bio soon... GENERAL MANAGER - Angie Nickens Undergrad from TCU in Health & Fitness Kinesiology, graduated May of 2007. Masters from TCU in Educational Administration, graduating in December. Currently the Director of Operations for TCU soccer.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Jim Harris Jim Harris has a USSF 'C' license. He is the Fort Worth FC Coaching Director and a North Texas State Staff Coach and Instructor. He is a former FWYSA Board Member and FWYSA Director of Player and Coaching Development. He is an active member of the US Soccer Coaches Organization and has coached at the club level for 6 years. He was one of the first FWFC coaches. |
