About the Team: The New York Athletic Club (NYAC) joined the WPSL in 2006 and is comprised of a strong team of players from New York City and Westchester County. NYAC has a successful history which includes impressive results in the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) National Amateur Cup, the Region I Championship, the New York State Cup, and the New York Metropolitan Women's Soccer League (NYMWSL). In August 2007, NYAC represented Region I in the USASA National Amateur Cup in Seattle, Washington after defeating strong teams from Massachusetts and Pennsylvania in the regional qualifiers. NYAC defeated North Carolina's Triad United 4-2 in the final game of the National Cup to claim the National Amateur Championship. This was not the first time NYAC competed in this tournament, as the team also reached the final four in Frisco, Texas in 2005 after winning the Region I Championship. On June 1st, 2008, NYAC defeated Opus County 6-2 to advance to the 2008 Region I Final. The team will play the Danubia Women in the National Cup Region I Final Game on June 22nd, 2008 in Pennsylvania and, if successful, will return to Seattle in August to defend the National Title. NYAC has also had significant success closer to home. The team won the New York State Cup in 2003, 2004 and 2007, and is competing in the 2008 State Cup Championship game on June 8th, 2008. In addition, NYAC has won the NYMWSL, New York City's Premier Adult Women's Soccer League, for the past four years, including a recent victory in the 2007-2008 season. The team, which fields four of the league's top ten scorers, won an impressive 14 out of 15 games, scored 67 goals and allowed only 8 goals against. The team was formed in 1999 to give post college players a place to play competitive soccer. About the Coaching:

Local Colleges: Local colleges include Princeton University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania State, Long Island University, Iona College and St. John's University. In addition, we have players from the University of North Carolina, William and Mary, Harvard University, Dartmouth University and Lehigh University.
