Oklahoma City, OK (07.27.2008) Oklahoma Alliance FC concludes this season with an unbeaten 7-0-1 record and the Big Sky South Conference Championship. This was the first year for the Big Sky South Conference but these teams will be back next year and will be even stronger and perhaps even more talented in 2009.
Oklahoma Alliance FC was the only team from both the Big Sky South and Big Sky North conferences to go undefeated. It was a most difficult feat with such talented teams in Ft Worth FC, South Select, Vitesse Dallas, and Tulsa Spirit. It was a tremendous learning experience for the young women who were on these rosters this year.
Congratulations to both U.S. U-18 Women's National Team players, Forward Caitlin Mooney (verbal Maryland University) and Midfielder Dria Hampton (verbal Oklahoma University) for being selected to the All-Big Sky Conference First Team for 2008. Both young women led Oklahoma Alliance FC this year in scoring with 14 points each in only 8 matches.
Special Recognition for outstanding play during this year's conference play go to the following special athletes: Kyndall Treadwell (Oklahoma State University), Chelsea Cody (Texas Christian University), Danielle Hughes (Tulsa University), Annie Zoch (USAO), Jordan Calhoun (Texas Christian University), Kaylie Garcia (Texas Christian University), Colleen Dougherty (Oklahoma State University), Kelsey Walters (Texas Christian University), Skylar Rosson (Mississippi State University), Melinda Mercado (Oklahoma State University), Whitney Palmer (Oklahoma University), Kelsey Springstead (University Central Oklahoma), Brittany Jay (USAO), Kelsey Allison (Oklahoma University), Jordan King (Oklahoma University), Kelsey Kraft (Oklahoma University), Ashley Bolden (Oklahoma University), Katie Matuska (TSC), Camille Sanders (ESC), Ashley Farrand (Oklahoma University), Alison Farrell (Oklahoma State University), Carlin Gibbs (Southern Methodist University), Cenayda Guzman (ESC), Lisa Jett (Oklahoma University), Allison Ouren (Mississippi State University), Taylor Smithwick (USAO), Taylor Turnipseed (Mississippi State University), and Stephanie Weigel (Central Oklahoma University).
