About the Team:

The Boston Aztec enter their fourth season in the Women's Premier Soccer League with the highest aspirations in the history of their program.  The Aztec roster, coaching staff, and management rivals even those of the long standing veteran teams in the #1 ranked league inthe country.  Aspirations of contending for a WPSL Championship are no longer far from reality; the Aztec coaching staff have assembled a lethal pool of players that will make the current squad a legitmate contender for a National Championship appearance.  The Aztec entered the WPSL in the summer of 2005 in the Northeast Conference and have participated in three successful seasons but are sure to turn heads in 2008.

With league play across the entire Northeast region of the country, the Aztec serve as the highest level of female soccer available in the United States.  And with the reinstitution of the Women's Professional League just 1 year away, the league is sure to showcase the most talented  players across the entire globe.

Boston Aztec is a branch of the Aztec Soccer Club.  The Aztec Soccer Club is a full-scale developmental organization with programs for ages 2-19, Men's and Women's pro-caliber amateur teams and Coaching Education programs. We currently have 17 boys and girls premier youth teams. There are over 350 players that are developing their skills & fitness through the Aztec soccer program. The organization works hard to stay on the cutting edge of US Soccer, and we are constantly challenging ourselves to provide the highest level of training to our players.

Aztec Soccer is the only North Eastern Massachusetts soccer organization that offers its players an opportunity to watch Amateur Premier soccer through its own organization.  These teams also give our players a feeder system to the next level. Our players are able to watch high level soccer and bring it back home with them throughout the year. Our former collegiate, current high school, current collegiate, and ex-professional players are great role models for the local youth in the area.

Aztec Soccer has 9 full-time staff members. These coaches, together with the 26 part time coaches that work with the Aztec Soccer Club take pride in being one of the best soccer staffs in New England.

Aztec Soccer also works closely with local communities through camps and clinics. Aztec offers coaching education as a tool for local towns to help develop their youth coaches who in turn can implement different styles and techniques into sessions for their players. Aztec is looking to reach out to the local town soccer programs to help train and inspire both players and coaches to improve and develop a love of the game.

About the Coaching:

HEAD COACH: Dushawne "DOC" Simpson

Dushawne is a 4 year verteran coach in the WPSL and has certainly been busy as in only as many years as their inception, he has managed to build a team that will compete for a regional title and a chance for a national championship appearance. Along with his duties with the women, Dushawne will assume the head coaching position of the Men's NPSL Boston Aztec team in hopes to carry on the tradition he left with his former PASL coaching reign. In 2005, Doc lead the Boston Aztec Men's Indoor team (PASL) to the organizations first National Championship while returning the following year after winning their second consecutive regional championship. Apart from his Amateur teams, Simpson oversees the entire girls youth side as the girl's Director of Coaching  inside of Aztec Soccer's club division,  Dushawne is a Sports Management / Coaching Concentration graduate from Salem State College.

A fixture in New England A-league since 1998, Dushawne played striker for the NH Phantoms, prior to that putting in seasons with the Connecticut Wolves, the Boston Bulldogs, and Avellino F.C in Italy. Dushawne captured all-conference awards at Salem State College and was all-conference for Southern Connecticut University as a freshman when he led the league in scoring.

ASSISTANT: Darren Marshall

In his first year with the Aztec, Darren will replace long-standing assitant Matt Kersker.  Darren holds his USSF "A" Licence along with his NSCAA Premier Diploma.  A current Massachusetts Olympic Development coach, Darren brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that is hard to come by.

ASSISTANT: Brandon Nelson

Brandon serves as the GK coach for the Lady Aztec as well as the director of GK development inside the entire Aztec Organization.  Brandon holds a Regional GK license and brings experience working with all levels of players, youth - professional ranks.  Brandon is a graduate of Northeastern University.

Type of Players: The Boston Aztec roster is comprised of the top level of players in the Country. Included on the 2008 roster are current and former DI, II, and III All-Americans, former WUSA & WNT players, and current international players from Brazil and Germany.
