About the Team:

The Puerto Rico Capitals FC will join the WPSL for the 2008 season, and are the first team outside the mainland US to play in the league.  The club will begin operations with a senior WPSL team and a junior U-17 developmental squad this spring.  Dedicated to the long-term development of girls and women's soccer in Puerto Rico, the Capitals plan to field rosters that highlight Puerto Rican natives and players of Puerto Rican heritage.

About the Coaching:

Type of Players: PLAYER ELIGIBILITY- To tryout, players must be 15 years or older, attended by a parent or guardian if under 18, and must be an amateur athlete. PLAYER COMMITMENT-Players are expected to demonstrate the highest level of commitment. This begins with tryouts and continues throughout the off-season training as well as during the May training camp and the June to July WPSL season, both on and off the pitch. PLAYER BENEFITS- Players will receive training and instruction from a nationally licensed coaching staff, and the opportunity to take the field against world-class competition. Each player will be distinctive as being a member of the Women’s Premier Soccer League. Players who make the WPSL active roster will be provided travel and expenses regulated by the NCAA and US Federation rules, but as amateurs will not receive a salary.
