About the Team: About the Coaching: Born and raised in Southend, England, Dan grew up playing in the youth system at Hullbridge Sports FC before representing the club at U18 and then the senior team at a semi professional level. From 2000- 06, Dan was the Girls Director of Coaching at Rio Vista FC in Albuquerque, NM. During his tenure, Rio Vista quickly became the largest and most successful girls program in NM history, dominating the state championships from 2000 -06. Dan was a member of the New Mexico Storm professional Indoor team with the AISL. Dan was also a head coach for the New Mexico ODP for 6 years and placed 2 NM teams in the Region IV ODP championship games. His teams have regularly won or competed in State Cup finals. Dan has also been on the Region IV coaching staff for the past 3 years and currently holds his USSF "A" License.
Type of Players: Capped international players, current and former collegiate players, former WUSA players, top local youth players.
Local Colleges: US Air Force Academy, Colorado College, Denver University, Metro State University, CSU- Pueblo, Regis University, University of Northern Colorado, Ft. Lewis College.
Player Tryouts: Tryouts are organized by the team and usually go on during the college winter and spring break periods. 2008 tryouts took place in mid-March. However, anyone interested in playing, please contact and send a soccer resume to Dan Highstead at dhighstead@hotmail.com. |
