- Treasury Report by
Richard Cross ö There are still several teams with outstanding bills.
Payment is requested.
- Commitment Forms ö A
few teams have not sent in their Annual Commitment Form yet. These teams
need to mail their form to the league office on Montgomery Street ASAP.
- League Schedule ö The
East Division has sent out the first draft via email. The West/South
Division has finalized their schedule. Game times and venues need to be
sent to Colette Hanlon as soon as they are confirmed.
- USASA National Cups ö
Region IV does not have to go through their State Association when
applying for Open Cup. They may use WPSL player cards throughout the
competition. *Colette will find out if the same is true for the other
Regions. Applications need to be sent in ASAP.
*
Mike Maloney of Region IV believes all Regions will be allowing this, but
suggests the team check with their Region to make sure.
- USSF AGM Report ö The
MPSL was granted National League Status. The only major Bylaw change that
will affect our league is **Bylaw 321. COMPOSITION, which will now allow
our league to have representation on the Regional Council for regions
where we have at least 6 teams. K&K Insurance is offering a $10,000
limit per player (normally $5,000) for $4 per player extra. However, they
could only do this for the entire league, not individual teams. Another
insurance carrier has proposed in the past to offer a $25,000 limit for
$521 per team, and this would not require the entire league to
participate. Colette Hanlon will explore this a little further and report
back to the Board her findings.
**Bylaw 321. COMPOSITION
Each region shall have a Regional Council composed
of the Regional Director, Regional Deputy Director, Regional Secretary,
Regional Treasurer, representatives from each State Association within the
region, and Regional Leagues of the region. Any National League that has a
minimum of (6) teams domiciled in a region shall be entitled to be represented
on the Regional Council in such region and have one (1) vote in that Regional
Council.
- Championship
Tournament Proposal by Jerry Zanelli ö Storm will fund the Championship
Tournament (air, hotel, field and possibly vans) in return for a game
against the Wildcard team for the fourth spot if his team does not win his
division or is not the wildcard team. All teams participating in the
conference call accepted the proposal.
- ÊIt was agreed that the wildcard would be
determined by the percentage of wins, not number of wins.
- Championship
Tournament Committee ö The Committee will consist of 2 East Division teams
and 2 West/South Division teams. Saeed Bonabian/Guy Hobbs and Dick Cross
will represent the West/South Division and ***Joe Ferrara will determine the
2 East Division committee members.
*** Joe
Ferrara has named
Richard Serignese of Steel
City and Jack Weatherson of
Maryland for the Championship
Tournament Committee
- Other Business ö
Teams will be allowed to have sleeveless jerseys.
- The East Division
stayed on the call to discuss scheduling.
Adjournment
Meeting adjourned at 6:44
PM PST. The next monthly
conference call is scheduled for April 14, 2004.
Minutes respectfully submitted.
