GUESTS
-
Dave
Simmons ö League Referee Assignor
- Every team is
expected to be a part of the monthly conference calls. If any team has a
problem making these calls let the league know. Joe Ferrara will speak
with the Eastern teams regarding this issue.
- League Commissioner
Jerry Zanelli appoints Lu Snyder of San Diego WFC the West Division
Commissioner.
- Jeff Thomas motions
and Joe Ferrara seconds that the Steel City Sparks be allowed into the
league for $2000 instead of $2500 due to miscommunication regarding the
entry fee. The motion carries.
- A friend of Jerry
Zanelli will print the WPSL handout created by Colette Hanlon. We expect
to have 25,000 printed.
- Jeff Thomas motions
and Jami Dansingburg seconds that Colette Hanlon
receive a $500 per month pay raise for the months of April, May, June and
July.Ê The motion carries.
- Guy Hobbs motions and
Jeff Thomas seconds that all teams must be paid up by April 21, 2004. If a
team does not make this DROP DEAD DATE, they will be dropped from the
schedule. The motion carries.
- If needed, the league
will hold a conference call on April 23, 2004 to discuss re-scheduling due
to unpaid teams.
- The proposal to have
Anne Hiles become the league photographer is rejected. It will be up to
the individual teams to get a photographer if they so desire.
- It was proposed that
the league look into getting a league-wide deal on WPSL banners. Each team
would get a banner from the league and would be required to display the
banner at all home games. Those with sign-maker contacts are asked to get
an estimate and forward it to Lu Snyder, the Committee Chair.
- Expansion report
given by Jerry Zanelli. Interest in expansion for the 2005 season is
great. Cities that are interested include: Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma
City, Tulsa, Dallas, Albuquerque, Baton Rouge, Atlanta (if a team from
Jacksonville commits), Pensacola, Philadelphia, Valley Forge.
- Teams from California
are warned that many Registrars do not have the new Youth to Adult
Provisional Forms. Make sure that the form you are given to fill out
states, Form 1612 Revision 2003. Hervi Rualo will fax an example of
the new form to Colette and she will distribute it to all California
teams.
- WUSA report given by
Jerry Zanelli.
- The San Diego WFC has
just gotten 501(c)(3) status and is offering help to teams who want to do
the same. If interested, contact Scott Dreher or Lu Snyder.
- Luis Labastida of the
Houston Stars would like to trade hotel costs with visiting teams. Contact
Luis if interested.
- Colette Hanlon will
forward all schedule updates to David Simmons when she receives them.
- A Referee Pay Sheet
has been created and will be distributed via email to all teams. Referees
will be required to fill this out for every game in order to receive
payment.
- Jeff Thomas will be
in charge of player registration disputes. Teams with any problems should
contact him.
Adjournment
Meeting adjourned at 7:14
PM PDT.
If needed, a re-scheduling
conference call is scheduled for April 23, 2004. The next monthly conference
call is scheduled for May 12, 2004.
Minutes respectfully submitted.
