The offensive onslaught from Ajax America's Shannon Cross (L) & Dallas Premier's Erin Scott (R) give them the nod for WPSL Co-Players of the Week
SACRAMENTO, CA (06/23/09) - Whether its the cream rising to the top or just a bad week for the defenders plying their trade in the
Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the main story-line this past week were the final score-lines. Exciting, high-scoring matches were seen from coast to coast and the post-season picture in all five conferences began to clarify.
In the spirit of goal-scoring central to the action in the 50-plus national over the last seven days, veteran Ajax America forward
Shannon Cross and a young, rising star in Dallas Premier's
Erin Scott are named WPSL Co-Players of the Week:

A very versatile player, Krohn (4g, 2a this season) played as an attacking midfielder and recorded 3 goals and an assist vs. the SeaLions.
MF Karina Camacho (ARIZONA RUSH)The Long Beach State midfielder had a breakout weekend, scoring two goals and contributing four assists in Arizona's two-game sweep over Big Sky-North powerhouse Denver Diamonds (2-2-2). D Alyssa Pember (LONG ISLAND FURY)The Boston College defender stepped up herself into the captain's role, as fellow Eagle Kelly Henderson wasn't available for the undefeated Fury (5-0-0) in a hard-fought 1-0 WPSL East win at luck-less New England on June 20th. The second clean sheet of season kept the Mutiny score-less in their past four matches while solidifying Long Island's tie for second place with Adirondack.
D Shanna Hudson (LOS ANGELES RAMPAGE)As a center back, Hudson was a physical & technical force in the Rampage defense in the team's two shutouts this weekend over 1st-place SD United (0-0 draw) and 3rd-place San Diego WFC (5-0 W) in Pacific-South action.
