PUERTO RICO CAPITALS ANNOUNCE FINAL ROSTER

Roster purposefully constituted with players of Puerto Rican descent

CAGUAS, PR (05/09/08) - The Puerto Rico Capitals of the Sunshine Conference of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) has announced this week their final roster in preparation for their debut on May 24th at Caguas' Sola Morales Stadium versus the Thomasville (Georgia) Dragons. Capitals franchise president Luis Murphy said the inaugural game will mark the first time the 51-team amateur league holds a match outside the continental United States....

About the Team: New York Athletic Club joined the WPSL in 2006. In 2005 the club reached the final four of the National Amateur Cup in Frisco, Texas. The team was formed in 1999 to give post college players a place to play competitive soccer. They have won the New York State Cup three times and won the New York Metropolitan Women's Soccer League three times. Our squad is comprised mainly of players from New York City and Westchester County.

Type of Players: National team pool players, International, Top D1 Colleges.

Local Colleges: Columbia, LIU, Iona, Princeton, St. John's. In addition we have players from UNC, Harvard, Dartmouth and Lehigh.
