About the Team: The 2007 season is the FC Sacramento Pride's 6th year competing in the WPSL. The Pride finished fifth in the Western Division. The team featured a blend of youth players and college veterans. Two of the Pride standouts have been selected to play for the Women's National Team. Youth players will dominate the Pride roster in 2008 along with some college talent and a few post-college vets. About the Coaching: Head Coach Danny Cruz is the Director of Soccer for the FC Sacramento Club and serves as a coach for the California Rush. Danny ranks as one of the most successful soccer coaches in California history, having won 5 State Cup Championships. His teams have played twice in the USYSA Snickers National Championships, placing 2nd in 2003. He has over 1,600 victories over 27 years as a coach
Type of Players: he team draws heavily from the pool of talented youth players in the area, particularly from those looking to sharpen their skills for entry into a college program in the Fall. The team also attracts College players from the surrounding area and those returning home for the summer, who want to maintain their skills between college seasons training under Danny Cruz. Returning players include Stephanie Lopez and Megan Rapinoe, both from the University of Portland National Championship Team and the US National Team.

Player Tryouts: Tryouts are organized by the team and usually go on during the college winter and spring break periods. |
