About the Team: The playmaking style, also known as "Total Football", is one of two team strategies, the second being the counter attacking style. These two styles are at the base of all the decisions about how a team will play in a match. A team's style of play is determined by the quality, personality, temperament, mentality and character of the players on the team. "'Total Football' and its attacking pressure are very spectacular. It places great demands on

-Rinus Michels About the Coaching:  | MJ Tate, Head Coach - Tate holds a USSF "A" License, UEFA B License and an English FA Coaching Certificate. Most recently MJ was a DOC for Utah Rush coaching two Top 30 National Club teams as well as the first coach in Utah to win a National Championship with the Utah Woman's Select Team at the Home Depot Center. Prior to that he was Technical Director at Inter Futbol Club in Sandy, Utah making history with Inter FC by being the first boys/girls club in Utah to have 6 teams at Far West Regionals. Tate's coaching experience includes Head Coach of So Cal Rush WPSL Team, Assistant Coach Malta U17 National Team, Randburg Youth Team (South Africa), Head Coach SUU Men's Program, EPSA Director of Coaching, Region IV Staff Coach and Assistant Coach Utah Blitzz. MJ is a former reserve player with Southampton FC. He also played for Cardiff City FC, Fareham Town FC, Runcorn FC, Eastleigh Town FC, Hungerford Town FC, Supersport Utd (South Africa), Randburg FC and the Utah Blitzz. MJ has a proven track record coaching well over 100 players that have played or are playing College soccer, with the very elite players he has coached playing or having played Professional Men's and Woman's soccer. |  | Cyndi Goodwin, Assistant Coach - Cyndi holds her USSF "B" license, NSCAA Premier License, KNVB Dutch National Certificate and her USSF National Youth License. Cyndi's coaching experience includes: Cal South ODP coach, Cal South & NSCAA coaching education staff instructor and Region IV ODP coach. Two time New Mexico State Champion, Two time HS State champion (New Mexico). Coach of the Cal South 87 girls National champions. Region IV champions U14 Girls (New Mexico). Cyndi enjoyed a long playing career including four years of college soccer in New Mexico. Cyndi was a head high school coach for 20 years, she resigned to be the Girls DOC for So Cal Rush. Cyndi holds a BS degree in Education and Psychology. Cyndi is a high school teacher and works with students with disabilities. Daniel's coaching experience includes: The Fury Soccer Club, in winning 16 State Cups, Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach for the Colorado Rapids (MLS). Daniel enjoyed a long playing career including Argentine National Youth Team, The Strikers (MPSL) and for several Indoor Soccer Pro Team. 760-813-2583 daniel@socalrush.org |  | Mike Bradbury, Assistant Coach - Bradbury is currently the Men's & Women's Soccer Head Coach at Victor Valley College and Granite Hills High School (Girl's Soccer). He has led his high school program to 7 League Championships in 9 years, a CIF Southern Section Championship in 2006, CIF Runner-Up in 2008 and 2009, State Regional Runner-Up 2008 and State Semi Finalist in 2009. He has been awarded "Coach of the Year" at both the High School and Collegiate level. Bradbury graduated from VVC with an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice, and is living proof that a post-high school career can be very rewarding and successful. Bradbury also holds a NSCAA National License. |
Type of Players: Players that play at a high tempo. All players can be playmakers in every position, which requires tremendous concentration for long periods under great stress. Players must be able to perform at a high level coming off the bench. Mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness. Adaptability and mobility. Do players have the ability to change positions on the fly? Movement off the ball. The ability to handle the ball in a very tight space. Technique!
Local Colleges: Players come from several colleges from in state and out of state including: CSSB, UCR, Concordia, Hope, VVC, UNLV, SMU, BYU, Utah State, U of Florida, LA. Tech, U of Wyoming, Columbus U.
Player Tryouts: Standard tryouts are held the first week in May for local players. Informal tryouts are by invitation or recommendation only. |
