SIX EAGLES READY TO "FLY" WITH BAY STATE SELECT

Six eagles ready to "fly" with Bay State Select

Rockland, MA (04/19/07) - The Bay State Select of the East Conference of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) announced the signing of six Boston College players to their 2007 roster: Jenny Maurer-U-21 US Women's National team, Kia McNeill (returnee), Jaclyn Zywien, Mae Shamir, Caitlin Burke, and Caitlin Hiler. "All of these players come from a very respectable and competitive college program," said Team Owner Laurindo Lima, who also announced the signing of one other player: Harvard midfielder stand out Rachael Lau. "They've had excellent coaching and played at the highest level of collegiate competition. They'll be great additions to our already great squad."

STAND OUTS:

Jennifer Maurer (picture)-Shared co-captain duties ... Finished '06 season with four goals and seven assists for 15 points ... Notched a point in six games ... Played both midfield and defense for the Eagles in '06 ... Started all 22 games and finished her career without missing a start in four years - 87 straight starts ... Finished her career with 13 career goals and 24 career assists for 50 total points ... Had 49 shots, 23 on goal ...2006 Selected as a first-team All-ACC honoree ... Named to the NSCAA All-Region first-team ... NEWISA All-Region first-team selection ... A Soccer Buzz Magazine Northeast Regional first-team selection ... East Region 2006 NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-Region team selection ... Was a second-team 2006 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team (District 1) ... Was a member of the U-21 US Women's National Team for the Nordic Cup competition.

Kia McNeill-Started 22 games on 2006 ... Tallied 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points ... Had 66 shots, 43 on goal... Now has 23 career goals and 12 career assists for 58 total points ... Had a goal and an assist in two games and two goals in three games this past season ... Selected to the All-ACC Academic soccer team ... Named to the NEWISA All-Region first team...Named to the Soccer Buzz Magazine Northeast Regional third-team.

Rachael Lau-Harvard Sophomore midfielder: started all '06 games. Before Harvard:
Four-year starter and two-year captain of the soccer squad ... Interscholastic League of Honolulu (IHL) All-Star three times in her career ... IHL Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a junior ... Three-time All-State Selection, earning First Team honors as a junior ... NSCAA/Adidas Scholar Athlete All-America ... Helped Punahou to a ranking of ninth by the NSCAA for Region IV ...
