The Sonoma County Futbol Club, more widely known as the Sonoma County Sol, has concluded its coaching search for the 2008 Sol Women's Team.  Just as life often finds us back in a familiar place, the Sol Women find themselves following such a path.  The Sol are pleased to announce that the Women's Head Coach for 2006 and 2007, Emiria Salzmann, and Assistant Coach Brian Halloran, are back for 2008. 

That's the familiar, and here's the twist: for 2008, Coach Salzmann and Coach Halloran will share the Head Coaching duties as Co-Coaches of the Sonoma County Sol.  With her new duties as Head Coach of the very successful women's soccer program at Santa Rosa Junior College, the time is right for Coach Salzmann to share the Sol's head coaching responsibilities equally with Coach Halloran.

Nor will Coach Salzmann and Coach Halloran go without an assistant as a result of Coach Halloran's elevation to Co-Head Coach.  The Sol are excited to bring a new face to the Women's team-- but one which should be very familiar to Sonoma County and North Bay soccer fans-- Chris Ziemer.  Assistant Coach Ziemer, the Athletic Director and Girls Varsity Head Coach at Sonoma Academy (2007 NCS Fall A Division Champions), brings a wealth of experience to assist Coaches Salzmann and Halloran.

The Sol Women will open up their home season with a Saturday May 24th game against a Bay Area rival, the Walnut Creek Power.

The vision of the Sonoma County Fútbol Club, playing as the Sonoma County Sol, is to provide top level adult soccer that blends the best players from the diverse soccer player-base of Sonoma County and the entire North Bay, through a professionally run, elite adult program for the entire community to enjoy.  The Sonoma County Fútbol Club is a non-profit community organization, with tax-deductible 501(c)(3) status, which is funded and supported by its members, donors and sponsors.
