The Claremont Stars enter their third season in the WPSL with high expectations and renewed interest in bringing outstanding women's soccer to the local area, and a great chance to compete for a Championship.
With the new year, the team has made a swith in management. Our previous manger, Mark Allison, had a plan to start the team and get it in motion and did an outstanding job. However because of prior committments, Mr. Allison was not able to continue on this year, but in his absence the Claremont Stars Soccer Club has taken over running the team and will add new help and energy to the team's effort.
We are pleased to have Carlos Juarez back as the team's Trainer and Head Coach. The experience that Mr. Juarez brings to the team is invaluable for helping the players learn this wonderful game and helping them reach their top potential on and off the field.
We have several players who are returning this year who have have been with the team for the previous two years and will lend experience and skill to the new players we will be incorporating this year.
Lastly, we are very excited to say that our league, the WPSL, has been named as one of the developmental leagues for the new Women's Professional Soccer league, the WPS. This means that girls playing on our team and in the league this year, will have more exposure to professional teams and scouts.
