Preseason Game at Cal Poly

Central California Heat Women’s Professional Soccer team lost their only pre season match today at Cal Poly 5 to 2. Goal scores for the Heat were Alicia Kolter and Morgan Darling.   Heat’s first WPSL game is May 18th at Storm Gold will be reschedule and the first home game is May 25th vs Elk Grove Storm at Fresno City College.

About the Team:

The Central California HEAT was established in December of 2011.  The HEAT is owned and operated by the Clovis Junior Soccer League, a 501(c)(3) organization committed to the promotion of soccer and the development of youth players.  HEAT is the highest level women's soccer team between Los Angeles and the Bay Area of California. The HEAT is coached by Oliver Germond (Head Coach), Drew Mattos (Assistant Coach) and Brian Coulter (GK Coach).

About the Coaching: Coach Oliver Germond has been the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Fresno City College for the past 11 years, where his teams have won seven Central Valley Conference Championships.  Coach Oliver has been named Central Valley Conference Coach of the Year seven times and he brings twenty years of professional soccer coaching and intercollegiate program management experience to the HEAT.  Coach Oliver holds a Master's Degree in Education, a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, a USSF National "B" Coaching License as well as a NSCAA Coaching License.  He is the former President of the California Community College Soccer Association.

Type of Players: Top level college and post graduate soccer players, international players, and aspiring professional players. 

Local Colleges: Fresno State University, Fresno City College, Fresno Pacific University.  The HEAT also draws talent from Colleges and Universities across the nation.
