About the Team: United FC Binghamton is excited out starting our second season in the WPSL. Last year we finished our season with a record of 3-4-3 in third place in our division. In our matches against the two teams ahead of us in the standings we tied them both and we lost to each of them by one point in extra time. Our goal for our first year was to be competitive and we were very competitive. We have several of our core players returning but, are looking for our areas top tallent to get our team to the next level. About the Coaching: United FC Binghamton Head Coach: M. Shane Cook unitedfcwpsl@hotmail.com / 607-427-4812 Coach Cook has been affiliated with local soccer for the past 20 years including three years as Chenango Forks H.S. girls' Head Coach where he amassed a record of 39-12-1 including three STAC East Championships and three Section 4 finals. While at Broome Community College as men's Head Coach for four years, he compiled a record of 35-29-3 including an MSAC championship and Coach of the Year honors in 2009. Since 2004 he has served as head coach of the STAC men's all star European team coach where he has an international record of 22-9-2. Shane has also coached many top-level travel and premiere teams on both the boys' and girls' sides for BC Fusion and now United FC where he also serves as Director of Coaching. He currently holds NSCAA Director of Coaching, National and Advanced National licenses along with USSF E, National D, and NYS coaching licenses. Assistant Coach Janine Bennett Janine Bennett has been coaching youth soccer in the Cortland area for 25 years. She has coached all levels from u8-u19 for Crown City futbol club, Empire united Soccer academy Cortland, Dryden Soccer Club, and Empire united Soccer Academy Syracuse. Janine played soccer at SUNY Cortland and earned numerous awards including All America 4x, NCAA Division III player of the year, SUNY Cortland's most athletic Female as well as most recently inducted into SUNY Cortland's Hall of Fame. Janine coached at the collegiate level at The University of the South in Tennessee, and came home due to a family illness. She is currently the Dryden Middle School Physical Education teacher and has been the Varsity Soccer Coach at Dryden for 14 years. Within that tenure Coach has brought Dryden to 6 division Champions, 3 IAC league Championships, one sectional runner up and one sectional championship. Her record at Dryden is 180-77-6. Type of Players: We are looking for top level curent and past college players and exception high school player who are willing to commit to high level training and the nations toughest female competition.

Player Tryouts: Tryouts for the 2013 season are: Sunday, March 10, 2013 - Noon - 2PM (outside) closed Sunday, March 24, 2013 - 10 AM - Noon (indoors) Time Changed 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Sunday, April 14, 2013 - Noon - 2PM (outdoors) The tryout fee is $25 and all players trying out will receive a United FC Binghamton WPSL T Shirt. We encourage players to make it to at least two of the three tryouts (only one fee charged no matter how many tryouts you attend). You should bring water and a properly inflated ball and you must wear shin guards. |
