About the Team:

Paul Riley returns to the helm of LI Fury for the first time since the 2009 WPSL National Championship triumph and a two year stint in WPS with the Philadelphia Independence and he is eager to put the club back into championship contention.
"Its fantastic to be back and build a team capable of competing for a championship. We have a  young, speedy and talented squad despite fact we will be very inexperienced. All the players have come through our own Fury program and its our job to get the best out of  them this summer"

LI Fury are also pleased to announce their first round of signings.
US U20 World Cup winner Cari Roccaro (Albertson Fury 93) becomes LI Fury first signing of the 2013 season after returning from an exceptional freshman year at Notre Dame:
"she was college Rookie of The Year and with assets like speed, strength, intelligence and a rare unequivocal love for the game she is a fabulous player and homegrown in Furyland."
Commented Head Coach Paul Riley.

Also signed is Shannon Horgan (Albertson Fury 95) a natural left sided player committed to play for Clemson in 2014.  Riley said,
"despite her tender years she has bite, brains and ball ability. Great left foot and she  has dynamic skill to change any game in an instant"

Cami Kelton (Albertson Fury 96) another youngster at 15 years of age
" she will anchor the midfield and with such a strong soccer IQ, ability to go box to box,Cami will be an integral part of team despite her lack of experience."
Said Riley.

Devon Prendergast (Albertson Fury 91/92), a senior from UConn returns for another season:
" she has a great range of passing, understands tactical aspect of game and is a multi functional midfielder."
Commented Riley.

Goalkeeping will be strong. Expected starter will be Brittany Anghel (Albertson Fury 92) and senior from Syracuse Univ. where she broke all time clean sheet record in 2012 season. Competition will come from a bunch of younger, upcoming stars in form of 16 year olds: Nathalie Nidetch (Albertson Fury 96), Kelly Degregorio  (Albertson Fury 96), and Nicole Sambuco (Albertson Fury 97), Ashley Wilson Albertson Fury 95),
" we have great ability and depth in goalkeeping department and despite our youth they will be a focused and competitive group". Said Riley.

Added to Karin will be high school senior Amanda Rooney (Albertson Fury Elite) who is headed to UNC for Fall of 2013. Jen Gibbons (Albertson Fury 91) a senior at St Johns, who has been a staple of LI Fury midfield unit over past four years, Jill Mulholland (Albertson Fury 93) junior at Hofstra University, high school sophomore Kerri Covallo (Albertson Fury 96) who has just been called up to the USA U17 National team:

"we are looking forward to getting the season started and I hope we will be competitive enough to make the playoffs"

LI Fury are delighted to announce the signing of WPS star and former USWNT player Tina DiMartino (Albertson Express). After a stellar college career at UCLA Tina played professionally for Goldpride and then Philadelphia Independence under LI Fury coach Paul Riley, where they went onto back to back finals in WPS:
"Tina is a real footballer , silky feet, brilliant soccer brain, and technical/tactical awareness which has been a hallmark of her great career. She will be an important leader and role model on our young team".
Said Riley.

Sister Rosie DiMartino ( Albertson Fury Elite), will be a major part of our team and now becomes the fourth DiMartino to play for LI Fury. She is headed to Boston College in Fall of 2013:
"Rosie is the last member of the soccer Royal family of Long Island. She has many of the same traits of sisters Tina, Vicky, and Gina. Smart, super skills, soft feet, great left peg and a nose for the goal,"
Commented Head Coach Paul Riley.

Christina Klaum (Albertson Fury 95) headed to  Providence in Fall 2014 and Long Island High School Player of the Year will be a key player in the midfield:
"Chrissy is a well oiled machine: can tackle, pass, beat players and reads the game superbly well," said Riley.
